THE WORKERS’ FINEST HOUR Working towards victory 1939 - 1945 A Testimony Films production for ITV WEST Calling all WWII Workers Testimony Films is making a commemorative six part series for ITV West and West Country. "The Workers Finest Hour" will be a tribute to all the men and women who worked in the West or who came from the West during World War 2. I am interested in speaking to anyone who was working in the following industries: • on the land (e.g. land girls, or farm/forestry workers); • on the railways (e.g. drivers, guards, station managers); • at the docks or fishing industries; • in the emergency services (nurses, doctors, fire-fighters, police). • in the mines (Bevin Boys); • in the aircraft industry or munitions factories (Parnalls, BAC); I am especially interested to talk to women who can talk about what it was like to be working for the first time in jobs traditionally thought of as 'men's jobs', and women who took on jobs or volunteer work as well as raising a family. I would also like to speak to anyone who took up a second job in the home guard or ARP services. If you or someone you know has vivid memories and interesting or poignant experiences about working through the war years and can talk about how this affected your life and those around you, then please write, phone, or e-mail me - Lizi Cosslett, Testimony Films 12 Great George St, Bristol BS1 5RH, 01179 258 589, lizi.cosslett@testimonyfilms.com. |
