In 2004, the Petrockstowe Local History Group (formed some years previously) wanted to do more than just talk about memories and decided to produce a book of Petrockstow, as very little had been written about it. After three years hard work “Petrockstowe Past and Present” is the result. It was an expensive project, made possible only by the successful application for a Lottery Heritage Fund grant. The book is not intended as a historical record but offers (within its 285 pages) a snapshot of Petrockstowe at various stages in the community’s development. Within the book are memories, anecdotes and humour (collected as oral histories), plus galleries of photographs and of course, the story of Petrockstow from its early formation.
